Become a storyteller! Use video to grow your audience.

Are you looking for a way to tell your story? Are you tired of being one voice among many on the internet? I don't blame you: it's hard to speak up and be heard in today's crowded, noisy world. But I'm here to tell you that there is an easy way—video! Video marketing is a powerful tool that can help your business stand out from the crowd. Let me show you how this works with some examples from my own experience using video as part of my brand strategy.

Why create video?

  • You can reach a larger audience. Video is one of the best ways to get your message across and have it received by many people. If you are trying to sell your product or service, creating a video about it will show off its features in an easy-to-understand format. This can be more effective than just posting text on social media because people tend to engage more with content that has visuals attached.

  • It establishes trust between you and your audience. When someone watches a video made by another person, they're going to be more receptive if they see that person's face talking straight into their eyes (and not at their phone). In addition, people are less likely to trust something they've never heard before than something they've heard before from someone else who seems trustworthy!

Once you've decided to create some video content, it's time to determine what type of videos will best suit your needs.

  • How-to video

  • Informational video

  • Vlog style video

  • Short and sweet (under 30 seconds) video snippets on social media platforms like Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and TikTok.

From idea to publication

  • Pick a topic.

  • Brainstorm ideas.

  • Decide on a format that suits your topic and audience, and make sure you have all the necessary equipment to achieve it.

  • Write a script to guide your video's narrative structure and help you focus on what's important in each shot. Don't worry too much about being perfect—if this is still in your head, just get it down on paper (or screen). You'll be able to edit later if need be, but at least this will give you an idea of what direction to take for each scene or sequence.

  • Record yourself doing whatever it is that makes sense for your story: presenting facts or data, showing how something works, interviewing people who know more than you do about something interesting—the possibilities are endless! If necessary (and generally recommended), record multiple takes with different angles so that the final product can be edited together into one seamless piece of content without any weird pauses or awkwardness between cuts.

Once all footage has been captured, edit it into its final form using editing software such as iMovie or Adobe Premiere Pro CC; these programs allow users like us at MaddMarketing Solutions to import raw footage from cameras like ours into one timeline before adding music tracks or titles/credits. After editing comes publishing—uploading our videos directly onto platforms like YouTube or Instagram (which we recommend because they allow us access to analytics).

You don’t have to spend a lot of money on tools or equipment to get started. All you really need is a camera (which can be your phone) and any editing software (like iMovie). You can also use stock footage and edit the footage yourself. The important thing is that you are creating something that tells a story and engages your audience.

For example:

-If you are a beauty blogger, show how you apply makeup and explain why it looks so good -If you are a small business owner, show how your products work and give people tips on using them -If you are an artist, take photos of your artwork and then create videos explaining what inspires your work or talk about different mediums used to create it

You see, you don’t have to be an expert to get started. In fact, it may even help your business if you make some mistakes along the way—you will learn from other people’s mistakes and successes in a way that is impossible when reading about them in a book or blog post. The best way to discover what works for your audience is by talking directly with them!

The great thing about video is that anyone can create it—and they should! Video content allows your viewers to connect with each other, share ideas and become part of something bigger than themselves (while also helping grow your business).

It will be fun too!

We hope you’ve found this guide helpful! We know there are a lot of moving parts when it comes to creating video content but if you keep these tips in mind, we think you’ll be well on your way.
